Online Talk Therapy

An online talk therapy session with a Mind Medicine clinician is dedicated time with an insightful and empathetic therapist that doesn’t simply “accept” what makes you different but affirms your unique identity. An affirming therapeutic relationship creates a safe space for you to examine the ways your current challenges may be informed by your past experiences.

A session is approximately 50 minutes of one-on-one time with your therapist. During a session, you have the space to share your emotional experiences and examine the systems and circumstances that make up our world. Over time, talk therapy allows us to navigate these systems with greater ease and increased self-awareness.

Psychiatric evaluation and med management

The process of med management is a collaboration between you and Rebeccah. It begins with you sharing the story of your mental health journey. Through that process of sharing Rebeccah not only gets to know about you, she also gains an understanding of the psychiatric symptoms you find most troublesome. Once those symptoms are named, you are presented with options for potential medications that may help you find relief. You then decide what is best for you and try it. At your next appointment you update Rebeccah on your symptoms and dosage is adjusted or medications are changed until you get the results you need. Once you hit your stride and are feeling better on the right medications, appointments become further apart.

Medication can be a pivotal component of managing uncomfortable and sometimes intolerable psychiatric symptoms but they really shine when taken in combination with talk therapy.

Listen, the person who prescribes your meds doesn’t have to be an affirming and empathetic provider but wouldn’t it be cool if she were? You deserve to be seen and heard.

Walk & Talk Therapy

Walk and talk therapy is a moving therapy session that gets us away from our screens and into the sunshine. By adding movement to our talk therapy session, we introduce the mood elevating benefits of exercise to the same affirming therapeutic space offered in an online session.

You and your therapist will decide on a convenient meet-up spot in Albuquerque and spend the approximately 50 minute session walking at your pace, stopping whenever you need to. You do not need to commit to having all therapy sessions outdoors but combining some walk and talk sessions with your online sessions can be a great way to get your steps, close your activity ring and move into a better mood.
